Richard Elliott.
Much loved Grandpa, Father, Husband and Friend who will be much missed but always remembered in our hearts.
"A ship fades from our view; we wave good-bye. Her sails grow small, then vanish from the sky. And sorrowing, we bow our heads, and then we mourn that sight we long to see again."
Thank you for giving this novice sailor the most memorable days on the water x
Thank you, Richard, for introducing me to sailing and teaching me the ropes, it has become a lifelong passion. I will never forget our early shenanigans in the many Round the Island Races... dogfighting round the needles, sitting on the gunnels getting very wet, flying the spinnaker off the bow as we broached precariously(!), rounding the forts to the sound of Rod Stewart, Sailing, ...and celebrating with well-earned gin and tonics as we crossed the finishing line. It has been a great adventure and a great joy - and the adventures will no doubt continue with Kate and family. We will always think of you as we drink our G+Ts. God bless you, rest in peace. Jo xx
